• This laid-back family-owned hotel has been operating for the better part of 55 years. Strategically located just a stone's throw from the airport and overlooking Lindbergh Beach, the Island Beachcomber is not fancy or upscale, but low-key, warm and friendly - which is probably why it's popular with families with children, many of whom come back year after year. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and feature sitting areas and refrigerators. The Beach Bar and Grill offers classic American breakfasts of eggs and bacon, plus reasonably-priced sandwiches and salads for lunch. There is no dinner service.
