Description:

  • This unique country villa is an all-suite property. It was originally built by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna of Mexico in the 1850s. Offering a panoramic view of Charlotte Amalie and the St. Thomas harbor, this place is more luxurious than its closest competitor, Villa Blanca (which is also good). The shopping district in Charlotte Amalie is just a 5-minute walk away; Magens Bay Beach is a 15-minute drive north. Each guest room is located in a different part of the villa. You might go for La Mansion, the former library; La Casa de Piedra, a former bedroom; or La Torre, the old pump house, which has been converted into a modern lookout tower. The Mexican-style decor features clay tiles, rattan furniture, and stonework. There is also a sun deck and small garden with hibiscus and bougainvillea.
