Description:

  • Fronted by big windows, this sunny waterfront restaurant attracts cruise ship passengers who need a place to drop. The food here is not the island's best, but it's satisfying if you're not too demanding. The house specializes in chicken, often with exotic fruit flavors, such as mango-banana chicken or coconut chicken. The excellent appetizers range from conch fritters to stuffed jalapeƱo peppers. A kettle of soup is always on the stove, and you can make a meal of the freshly made salads. The most popular item on the menu is the big, juicy burger, the island's finest, made with certified Angus beef. There's a wide selection of seafood, like the baked stuffed swordfish with garlic cream sauce, plus chef's specialties such as baby back ribs.

The Greenhouse is also a prime nightlife spot. A daily happy hour from 4:30 to 7pm seduces party animals early. On Tuesday nights after 9:30pm, the Greenhouse turns into a hip nightclub attracting a 21-and-over crowd with two-for-one drinks. This is the biggest event on Tuesday night in St. Thomas. On Friday nights there's live reggae music; on other nights the sounds are selected by a DJ.
