• BOSS stands for Breathing Observation Submersible Scooter, and is a unique way for those without diving or swimming experience to view the underwater wonders of St. Thomas. Each machine looks a bit like a land-based scooter, but includes a domed headpiece that seals tight around the head to prevent water entering. A tank attached to the scooter provides continuous oxygen, and the scooters are motorized so no swimming is required. Tours depart from the Crown Bay marina and visitors are taken by boat to a dive site, then accompanied by professional divers who point out undersea life. 3 1/2 hour tours also include a snorkeling component, and the boat has restrooms, freshwater showers, restrooms, and shaded lounge areas. Minimum age for kids is 10 years old and 4 feet tall.
