Bluebeard's Castle

Bluebeard's Castle - St. Thomas

  • Description:

    • Local lore has it that this stone tower on a hill east of Charlotte Amalie was built by Bluebeard the pirate for his wife, whom he later killed for being unfaithful. In truth it was a Danish fortified tower, Frederiks Port, built in 1689 as additional protection for the harbor. It is now a lovely hotel and restaurant with a lovely view.
