- One of St. Thomas's many gorgeous beaches, Grand is a stone's throw from Coral World and only a short walk from route 38 on the north shore. Watersports are key here, and equipment can be rented from the kiosks on the beach. The water in Smith bay is ultra-clear, shallow and calm, making for great visibility when snorkeling or kayaking. Other amenities include food, parking and umbrella rental. Grand beach is popular with families with kids, as the sand is fine and the ocean currents are mild.
