Honeymoon Beach

Address:

St. Thomas, Us Virgin Islands

Description:

Honeymoon Beach is one of the more pristine beaches in the Virgin Islands, and has the benefit of being largely uncrowded due to its location on Water Island. It's only a stone's throw from Crown Bay on St. Thomas, but most tourists don't bother to make the trek, even though it's well worth it. The beach is wide and long, with lots of shade in the form of palm-frond huts and palm trees. There are also plenty of benches, a public bathroom, and a beach bar which is open most days during high season. On weekends bands often play on the bandstand in the center of the beach. Snorkeling is fair to middling, with a few fish and critters to be found in the sea grass in the center of the cove. To get there, take the water taxi from Crown Bay marina (not the ferry port) and walk straight uphill from the dock, then at the crest of the hill turn right and walk downhill for about five minutes.
