Description:
Explore the protected area on St. Thomas' south shore known simply as the Lagoon. With a guide at the lead, paddle two-person kayaks down mangrove-fringed waterways to a rubble beach at the Lagoon's mouth. Stop there for a half-hour snorkeling expedition to see fish dart about coral. The entire trip lasts 2 and a half hours and includes kayak rental, waterproof bags, life vests, mask and snorkel use. Children under seven are not charged.
Day Note:
On day two rent a powerboat to explore - at your own pace - the hidden coves and waterways of St. Thomas's coastline and cays. If you're not an experienced boater you can hire a guide to drive you.

Description:
Formerly a peninsula that jutted into Charlotte Amalie harbor, this tiny island was once a hub of seafaring activity and has history which dates back to Napoleonic times. Guided hiking and kayaking tours allow visitors to see the ruins of an 18th century stone fort, a 19th century marine railway, and the crumbling remains of the Royal Mail Steam Packet company. More recently, the Royal Mail Inn, a small hotel located on the island, is alleged to have been the inspiration for the hotel in Herman Wouk's novel Don't Stop the Carnival.
Day Note:
On day five, how about some golf in the morning, and tennis in the afternoon? Mahogany Run is the island's only (but excellent) golf course. And at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef, visitors can rent a tennis court or two for a nominal fee.

Description:
The challenges are many and the views spectacular at this 18-hole golf course. With a par 70, the George and Tom Fazio-designed course runs 6,022 yards and includes the infamous Devil's Triangle. Its 14th hole sits cliffside and has challenged such pros as Tiger Woods and Tom Watson. Former President Bill Clinton also played this course. The course underwent a million dollar fairway renovation to improve play. Rates depend on season and include mandatory golf cart rental, a big help on the hilly terrain.
