  • Maybe it's the pickled fish - we're not sure - but for whatever reason, Stockholm has embraced Italian cuisine and supports a delectable variety of Italian restaurants. Trattoria Romana is one of the popular spots in Gamla Stan. It serves traditional Italian cuisine and is famous for its pasta served with generous measures of Parmesan cheese. Niva 22 is interestingly located underground but it's easy to find from the Fridhemsplan subway entrance, which is just opposite. Vassa Eggen is a cutting-edge and fashionable restaurant in the center of the city, with gastronomic influences from all over the world revealed in the light, airy dining room, accented by a beautiful glass dome. Rosendals Tradgard is located just outside the city and offers a lovely public garden, with an inn and cafe on the grounds. Italian food is well suited to the innovative Stockholm style, as you'll discover on a visit to one of the city's many fine Italian restaurants.
