Swedes come here to celebrate their nautical heritage in cuisine, and for some of the most authentic seafood flavors in town. If you want to imitate the locals, you might begin your meal with an "archipelago platter," a selection of fish caught in the islands near Stockholm, and finish with a medley of Swedish cheese and homemade bread. Another choice we find delectable, although it may be an acquired taste, is the blini stuffed with bleak roe, trout roe, and onions. The menu offers options other than seafood, too. Take the cream of wild mushroom soup served with strips of reindeer -- your local diner back home isn't likely to have that. In autumn, diners can be seen ordering roast venison with a timbale of chanterelles. This place is part of the previously recommended hotel of the same name. Decorative touches evocative of the late 1700s adorn the five cream-colored dining rooms. Homage to the place has even appeared in the poetic verse of one of Sweden's most valued poets, Carl Michael Bellman.
