Kinesiska Paviljongen

Description:

  • The Chinese Pavilion at Drottningholm Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Orignally, it was a birthday gift to Queen Louisa Ulrica by King Adolphus Frederick in 1754. Unfortunately, the original pavilion succumbed to the effects of bad weather. The existing pavilion, which is as beautiful, was built by one of Sweden's leading Rococo architects, CF Adelcrantz, in 1768. The pavilion was once a vacation home for the Royal Family but is now a cafĂ© open to the general public.
