Visitor Information
Ston's tourist office is at Peljeska cesta bb (tel. 020/754-453 or 098/296-192; www.tzo-ston.hr). It is on the road leading into and out of town across the street from the daily market. Maps, brochures, and information about the town and its treasures are freely dispensed here.
Getting There
The bus stops on the road outside Ston, but public transportation for Ston and the whole Peljesac Peninsula is not regular or very efficient. If you want to see the exceptional but hidden gems in the hills and valleys of this rarely visited part of Croatia, you'll need a car.
Getting Around
The roads through Peljesac are generally narrow and winding, especially the coastal roads as you approach Mali Ston and Ston. The pavement varies from flats through the valleys to heart-stopping hairpin turns in steeper areas. Walking is the best way to explore Mali Ston and Ston, however. There is a free parking lot outside Ston near the market.
