Altes Waisenhaus

Description:

• With a history spanning almost 300 years, the building has seen a lot of changes and reconstructions. Orginially built as a barracks for the Duke´s guards, it was later transformed into an orphanage. In 1922 the orphanage home was transfered to another location and the building meant to be torn down to make way for the erection of a new city hall. Nowadays it houses the Institute of Foreign Relations, restaurants, a cafe and in the courtyard a pleasant beer garden worth visiting.
