Small Bar - Sydney
  • Type: Bars
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Bag a table early, order up hot chips and avoid the steep staircase in heels.

  • Description:

    • The first bar in Sydney to take advantage of the Melbourne style licensing laws introduced to encourage smaller drinking establishments in the CBD, the appropriately named Small Bar is easy to wander past with its subtle sign and unobtrusive front. Inside, drinkers can arrange themselves on a number of levels, indoors and out and the main bar on the ground floor is backed up by another smaller one in the basement. Get there early to bag one of two small tables on the upstairs balcony if the sun is out, or a cozy nook in the basement on cooler days. They serve up a good selection of beer and wine as well as classy bar snacks (the chips served in a checked paper cone are hot, salty and delicious).
