• For historical significance and harbourside convenience, The Russell at The Rocks is one of Sydney's most charming and elegant boutique hotels. From its sandstone exterior and quaint first floor sitting room to the very sophisticated ground floor wine bar and rooftop garden, this hotel oozes style and panache.
  There are a variety of room types (including some with shared facilities) that appeal to a range of budgets and tastes. While no two rooms are identical, some overlook the bustle of George Street while others surround a courtyard or line the infamous Nurses Walk.
  But it's the Russell's location that few hotels can equal; right in the heart of the historic Rocks precinct. Circular Quay is across the road; the Harbour Bridge is overhead; the Opera House is around the corner; and there are scores of bars, restaurants and shopping opportunities within easy walking distance, including the renowned Rocks markets on weekends.
  And to cap it off, the in-house wine bar on the ground floor has a great reputation in its own right as a venue locals love frequenting. We tried to book a table for my birthday late last year – weeks in advance – but sadly there was no room at the inn.
