Description:
This nice indoor and alfresco eatery overlooking the water on the same side as Darling Harbour (to the left of Sydney Aquarium if you're looking at the boats) offers good cocktails and plenty of seafood. The best seats are outside in the sunshine, where you can watch the world go by over a bottle of wine. My choice of dish is the seafood platter for two, which has enough crab, prawns, fish, oysters, and lobster to satisfy. It costs A$120 (US$108/£54). Otherwise there are various fish, prawn, and octopus dishes to choose from. A kids' menu offers either chicken, calamari, or fish, with french fries and a soft drink, followed by ice cream. It costs A$13 (US$12/£6). Nick's has another equally nice eatery on the other side of the Aquarium called Nick's Bar & Grill (tel. 02/9279 0122) and one in the Bondi Pavillion (across the grass and opposite the beach) called Nick's Bar & Grill Bondi Beach (tel. 02/9365 4122). The food and prices at all three places are similar. A sister establishment, I'm Angus Steakhouse (tel. 02/9264 5822), caters to meat-eaters. It's on Cockle Bay Wharf, too.
