Oscillate Wildly is a fine-diner in a part of town that throngs with great restaurants – just take a turn up and down nearby Newtown artery King Street if you feel like being bombarded with dozens of excellent Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and Indian choices. Oscillate Wildly is a little more sedate, back away from the frantic youth culture of Newtown's main strip, and is shooting at an entirely different demographic. Oscillate Wildly has an excellent 8 course degustation menu available for under $100 – unheard of in fine-dining Sydney, and the menu as a whole is great, with creative choices like salmon roe perched on a creamy dollop of cauliflower and white chocolate.
