Description:

  • Yoshii, a well-regarded purveyor of Japanese cuisine, is run by Yoshii Ryuichi. The location is superb – right in the historical heart of old Sydney Town, in the Rocks area. There are various ways that your evening can play out: you can play it casual by buying from the sushi bar, or alternatively book a table and tuck into one of two 13-course menus, prepared in the kaiseki tradition – expect tiny servings! Yoshii is not as famous as Tetsuya's, but it is close to as busy, and it is certainly a little on the expensive side (degustation menus range from $110 to $178). Sample dishes: sea urchin egg cups; scallop carpaccio with truffle oil and steamed pork belly wrapped in kelp.
