Barrenjoey Lighthouse to Palm Beach Walk

Description:

  • Barrenjoey Headland is an area of historic importance. Once an island, it became joined to the headland over 6000 years ago. Named before Sydney, it was a peril to sailors, hence the lighthouse. Taking in the most northern tip of Sydney, this track, rugged in places, winds for over five kilometers, through smuggler's trails, eucalypt forests, heath land of banksias and wattles and back to the golden sands and million dollar properties of Palm Beach. Allow at least three hours for this walk. To return to the city catch Bus 190 from Ocean Place.
