NileGuide Expert tip:
Catch a behind the scenes tour on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Fresh Australian seafood arrives from fishing fleets in tons at Sydney Fish Markets, the largest working fish market in the southern hemmesphere. The Sydney seafood school is an excellent way to learn to bar be que like an Aussie too. Over 13,000 tons of fish is sold on the trading floor every year and you can join in the action at a dawn auction and watch the local chefs snap up the best catch of the day on a behind the scenes tour. (See website for bookings). Order up a half dozen oysters served in newspaper, some thinly sliced sashimi, pop into the bakery and fruit and veg market and eat your picnic as the sun rises for a fine super fresh fish breakfast.
