Planning a 2-wk visit in January with our kids ages 3&5 and my parents. Want to rent an apartment. What neighborhoods would be best for kids

I would suggest anywhere close to the coast so codgee, bondi, manly, cronulla, bundeena and a heap of others depending on your budget and what you want to see. the weather is great in Jan ususally so on the water is what I would recommend.

Pretty much what these guys have said Sydney is very kid friendly. Most of the hotels in Sydney have family sized apartments. I would suggest a website, www.expedia.com.au this site will combine flights accommodation and car hire all in one and can be quite cheaper then travel agents.

It depends on what you want to see in the two weeks. I think close to the City would be good. There are a few attractions for children like the Wildlife park, the Aquarium, Imax is in Darling Harbour. Taronga Zoo is a ferry from Circular Quay. Most areas in Sydney have Childrens Parks.
