Public Question Asked by NileGuide about Tahoe City

I visited Lake Tahoe a long time ago and had lunch at a restaurant high above the lake on the mountain side of the lake, looking down on the water. I would like to find that restaurant again, or something similar. I don't want to be water front, I want to be high in the mountains looking down on the lake. This restaurant was like hanging off a cliff overlooking the lake. It was spectacular.
Thanks!

I think you are describing The Chart House. You can take the tram to the top of Heavenly Ski Resort for dinner. My favorite is Edgewood for the food.

Sandi is right, it sounds like the Chart House. It's on Kingsbury Grade near Stateline and South Lake Tahoe. If the weather is good, you can also take a picnic basket up the Heavenly Aerial Tram and eat outside on the observation deck. For a different view, go to Truckee and eat at the Cottonwood. They have a view of the old town and the railroad and surrounding forest.
