Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, beach bum, or shopaholic, Taipei has a little something for everyone. These ten activities are just the tip of the ice berg, so head out the door and have fun with some of the city's best things to do.

    Everyone loves a day at the beach, and Fulung beach, the most popular in Taiwan, makes the perfect day trip from the big city. Rent sailboats, canoes, or boogie boards, or simply park yourself under an umbrella and laze the day away. If you can't get enough of that water, Formosa Fun Coast and the Peitou Hot Springs give visitors plenty of opportunities to soak, splash, or relax by the waters.

    Right in the heart of the city sits the Taipei 101, and the second tallest building in the world is more than it seems. After riding the elevator to the top observation decks, you can take in the sights while catching up on your local history. The first five floors of the building are a shopper's paradise, with high-end brands like Gucci and Coach, and a huge basement food court offering all types of cheap eats.

    Just because you're in a big city doesn't mean you can't enjoy nature's beauty. Taipei is a city surrounding by national parks, and companies like Alan's Mountain Bike or the Adventure Kayak Club can get you geared up and out into mother nature.
