Eight Elephants Hostel

• Located in the Shida university district of Taipei, this hostel really shines due to its awesome staff. The owner, Heather, is friendly and accommodating. Eight Elephants has all the hostel amenities such as lockers, a full kitchen, and washers and dryers. The common room is stocked with books movies, and fun travelers. The dorm rooms can feel a little tight, but you can always upgrade to a private room. Eight Elephants has been voted the #1 Hostel in Taiwan from 2008-2009. It's also easily accessible as it is walking distance from the Guting metro station. It's also close to some great bars and the Shida Night Market is right down the street.
