NileGuide Expert tip:

Botanical gardens are bigger in this part of the world, so you can easily devote three to four hours to a leisurely stroll through the park.

Description:

The Taipei Botanical Gardens have been around since 1921 and consist of 17 different themed zones housing over 100 species of plants. Nine ponds scattered throughout the grounds of the gardens are each home to different types of lotus plants, and the flowers bloom in some pretty stunning colors come spring and summer.

While the gardens won't fall near the top of the must-see list in Taipei, they're worth a visit if you'll be spending a more significant amount of time in the city, or if you just need to get away from it all for an afternoon.
