Description:

The Discovery Center of Taipei, just inside Taipei City Hall, walks locals and tourists through the history of the city. As soon as you enter City Hall, you'll see Impressions Hall, a welcome center where you can watch visitors and locals recorded thoughts on the capital of Taiwan, some good, some not so good.

Contrary to what the exhibition layout may suggest, you should really begin on the fourth floor, where you'll find the Dialogue With Time, a trip into old Taipei city during the Qing dynasty. One of the most interesting displays is a plan of modern Taipei's city center superimposed on an old map, so you can really see how much the city has grown. You can also watch a trilogy of short films covering the city's past, present and future in a 360 degree theater.

The third floor's City Discovery Hall highlights the growing skyline, major roadways and features of today's Taipei. On the second floor's special exhibition hall currently educates guests on Taipei's efforts at sustainable living.
