Honeymoon Bay

  • Type: Beaches
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

The waves at Honeymoon Bay tend to break more hollow than at other surf spots in Taiwan.

  • Description:

    • Honeymoon Bay, a horseshoe-shaped cove at the mouth of the Da river, draws in couples seeking a little romance and surfers on the hunt for the next big wave. Each year surfers from around the country flock to Honeymoon Bay to compete on the two to three meter waves. While the beach running along the bay is on the rocky and uncomfortable side for barefoot strolling, the scenic spot is still worth a visit, especially since it's only a 90-minute train ride from Taipei.

Outdoor enthusiasts visiting Honeymoon Bay can make the climb up nearby Yingshi peak for sweeping views of the entire coastline.
