Maokong Gondola

  • Type: Attractions
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Best place to sample traditional tea

  • Description:

    • With a complete revamp completed in summer 2011, the Maokong Gondola is now squeaky clean, safer, and still a nice way to escape the busy city for some mountain air. With stops at the Taipei Zoo and Zhinan Temple before reaching Maokong station at the top, riding the gondola offers an interesting alternative way to see the city, especially if you have children.

Once at Maokong, you can head out on one of the several hiking paths, visit any of the three temples in the area, or sip on some traditional Chinese tea while learning about the process of tea making at the Tea Promotion Center or Three Stone Teapot Museum. Maokong is also home to a quaint collection of local tea houses, perfect for relaxing after a hike.
