By Plane -- There's an airport in Tak, but currently no flights serve the province.
By Bus -- From Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal (tel. 02576-5599), one first-class, air-conditioned bus leaves for Tak city's bus terminal (tel. 05551-1057) daily at 10pm. The trip takes 6 1/2 hours and rates are 313B/US$9/£4.80. There are also three second-class trips per day, but travel on those buses can be slow and uncomfortable.
From Bangkok to Mae Sot's bus terminal (tel. 05556-3435), a VIP bus runs four times daily, from 9:30pm to 10:40pm (8 hrs.; 610B/US$17/£9.40). First-class buses leave three times daily from 9am to 10:20pm (8 hrs.; 394B/US$11/£6.05).
There are also second-class connections from Phitsanulok's Bus Terminal (tel. 05521-2090) to Tak (8 departures daily; trip time 3 hrs.; 90B/US$2.60/£1.40) and hourly to Mae Sot from 7am to 3pm (5 hrs.; 153B/US$4.40/£2.35).
Privately operated minivans connect Tak and Mae Sot, leaving when they're full (about every half-hour), for about 60B (US$1.70/90p) per person. Trip time is 1 1/2 hours. There are good buses operated by the Green Bus Line (tel. 01141-8000) from Mae Sot to Tak and on to Lampang and Chiang Mai (departs 6am and 8am from Mae Sot; 7 hrs. to Chiang Mai; 315B/US$9/£4.85).
From the bus terminals in Tak and Mae Sot, motorcycle taxis, samlors, and songtaews wait to take you to any hotel for about 40B (US$1.15/60p).

The streets around his shrine (on Taksin Rd. at the north side of town) fill with food vendors, dancers, musicians, and monks. The shrine is decorated with floral wreaths and gold fabric to welcome pilgrims.

There are a number of Internet cafes along Intharakhiri Road in the center of Mae Sot, the largest being inside the Southeast Express Tours office.
