- The strawberry is king at this annual festival that takes place in the winter strawberry capital of the world. Every day is jammed with events including the infamous strawberry shortcake-eating contest. Famous music acts, juried shows, a grand parade, an assortment of rides for adults and children, games of chance and a wide variety of food highlight the event. Plant City is a tiny town. To find the festival, take I-4 east from Tampa to Exit 10, Branch Forbes Road, or Exit 11, Thonotosassa Road, and follow the signs.
