Description:
- The Finns are wild about cross-country skiing, and this annual marathon event is proof positive. Held in Lahti, about 90 minutes northeast of Helsinki by train, the event sends more than 5,000 skiers on a 60 kilometer circular course, beginning and ending in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Lahti Stadium. Non-racers can cheer on their favorites from the stands for free.
