Active Things To Do in Tel Aviv

Israel is an adventurer's dream. In a country about the size of New Jersey, one can find mountains, desert, seas, hills, springs, forests, vineyards, and rivers. In the Tel Aviv area, one has the opportunity to play in the Mediterranean Sea on boats, through surfing, scuba-diving, boogie-boarding and wind-surfing. At the Yarkon River, one can enjoy an afternoon of paddle boats and at Hayarkon Park, the kids have several adventure areas to climb on. There are a few hikes in the Tel Aviv area and the country's best hike, up Masada, is only a two-hour drive away. The Ein Gedi springs are in the same area and are a phenomenal hike for visitors to Tel Aviv who want a one-day escape. Haifa, forty-five minutes to the north, has some of the country's best wineries to tour. The Kinneret(Sea of Galilee) is a favorite amongst travelers and natives for camping. Every day of the week at all hours, one can find someone working out along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, called the Tayelet. With a variety of workout stations along the Sea, one can bike, run, jog or walk from station to station or just enjoy the view along the workout. If you're active, Tel Aviv will keep you very busy.
