A relaunch at the end of 2008 gave this intimate restaurant in the heart of the city a more contemporary style. This should help Saur to maintain the high regard in which it has been held since it first opened in 1928, a status cemented in 2001 when readers of the local newspaper, the Haagse Courant, voted it Restaurant of the Year. Meat eaters won't feel entirely left out amid the delectable array of fish, shellfish, and crustacean delicacies on the menu -- an excellent rack of lamb is among the dishes aimed at them. In summer, there's sidewalk dining on a corner of the tree-shaded square out front.
