Escher in Het Paleis (Escher in the Palace)

Description:

  • Paleis Lange Voorhout (1764), formerly a royal palace, now houses a museum honoring the Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher (1898-1972), who in his lifetime produced hundreds of lithographs, woodcuts, and engravings, and more than 2,000 drawings and sketches. The museum in the heart of town doesn't have them all, but it has a fair sampling, and a computer-animation section on the top floor. Plus, you get to see inside one of the Hague's palaces, and even if it's a small, second-tier one, a visit is still worthwhile.
