Description:

  • This bookish museum occupies a 19th-century townhouse with formal garden. Part of the collection was assembled by Baron W. van Westreenen, whose home it was. His book collection includes rare medieval manuscripts and early examples of the printed book. On his travels, van Westrenen amassed objects from ancient Egypt, Rome, and Greece, among them mummies, statues of deities, and coins. In the garden house are temporary exhibits of modern typography and displays explaining the printing process.
