Royal Plaza Tiberias

• Composed of two renovated hotels that have been joined together, the Royal Plaza doesn't offer architectural pizazz, but it does have comfortable, roomy, rather formally decorated rooms and prices that don't skyrocket as much as those at other Tiberias hotels during the summer. There are so many sections to the hotel, and so many different styles of rooms, that it could be worthwhile to look around before checking in. The hotel is located 3.2km (2 miles) south of Tiberias center, on the main lakefront road not far past the hot springs. Pluses include a pleasant British-style pub/bar, business facilities, and a spa with massage treatment rooms. Suites are spacious, contain Jacuzzis, and are a good option for families. There's also a family deal for a double plus two children in a separate room ranging from $320 to $480 (£160-£240).
