The best of all the giant downtown hotels along the waterfront, this modern 14-story high-rise offers a convenient location at the southern end of the Waterfront Promenade. In 2006, guest rooms were heavily renovated and a state-of-the-art spa, with a full range of massage programs, was installed. Ask for a room with a view of the lake (many have balconies). The pool area is pleasantly sheltered from the promenade and open all year; dining facilities are above average, with theme buffets at the main in-house restaurant; service is attentive; and in season and on weekends there's live entertainment and activities for children. The roomy junior suites are a good choice for families.
