Description:

  • Little Tobago is a tiny island located just east of the northern tip of Tobago. The island was once known as one of the most lucrative cotton plantations operating in the late 1700s. In 1909 the new owner, William Ingram, created a bird sanctuary on the island, which he started with 24 Birds of Paradise that he brought over from Aru Island. In 1925, Ingram's heirs handed over the sanctuary to the government. Today, the island is a major bird watching and scuba diving location with several diving supply stores and boat tours available.
