Sidney Foch

• Just a 4-minute jaunt from Shin-Nakano Station lies The Sidney Foch, a standing bar with a super cozy back table, if you can get to it. Meander in and say hi to Richard the Brit and Yuki the local, who make the place feel warm and friendly. Grab a Nama beer for only pocket change, or whet your whistle with some other libation. There are always good tunes jamming, and you can even bring your own. The counter is decorated with all manner of small figurines and the the Foch-ers lend their walls to a variety of local artists, so you'll never know what you'll see. Not strictly a British pub, there always seems to be some blokes and birds about. - Stephen Lebovits
