Romantic Nightlife in Tokyo

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • So you've only got a few nights - maybe just a one-night layover - to spend in Tokyo. You're in luck. Tokyo has bars, clubs, restaurants and scene spots for every taste. Tucked into Shinjuku's Golden Gai bar district is the famous La Jetee. The bar is tiny, with movie posters covering the walls, and is a popular hangout for journalists, photographers, and filmmakers. Kabuki-za, the main kabuki theater in Tokyo since 1889, usually features two daily performances, each consisting of three or four plays and the repertoire is changed monthly. Womb, a haven for electronic music aficionados, is one of the most acclaimed nightclubs in Tokyo. Though Tokyo is filled with interesting locations with intriguing themes, Asa is an original. Ben's Café is a great, little cafe, resto and art space that is very popular with both expats and locals, and especially during the spring and summer months. The bars and clubs are the places to go when you've only got one night in Tokyo town - or when you have a week.
