Description:
- Tanaguchi is a comfortable inn that serves good food and has an incredible outdoor bath that lets you be close to nature. Guestrooms are traditional Japanese style but Tanaguchi's best feature is the river. The bath is a huge hot spring pool in the Gamata River. The rock lined pool corrals the hot spring water that bubbles up from the riverbed, and isolates bathers from the river's currents. The thermal water is classified as sulfur. The meals at Tanaguchi are traditional mountain onsen (spa) fare, and include river fish, mountain greens, thick handmade noodles, and wild boar stew in the winter.
