User Review:
- Kappabashi is Tokyo's restaurant supply district, with 8 blocks of unusual gourmet stores. Gawk at all the fake plastic food (used in window displays in most Japanese restaurants), intimidating sushi knives, and elaborate kitchen equipment and furnishings. Although they mostly sell professional equipment to the trade, they also sell to the consumers and tourists too. This is the place to go for high-end ceramic kitchen knifes (much cheaper in Japan than elsewhere). For a truly only-in-Japan souvenir, pick up a "fake sushi" refrigerator magnet. Walkable from either the Tawaramachi or Asakusa stations.
