Description:
- Built by a nearby college in the early 1980's, with the aim of preserving ancient inn keeping traditions, the inn is a perfect reproduction. Staff dress in Edo-era peasant garb and Japanese-style rooms are exquisite. A special room costing 20% more per person has every luxury including a bathtub made of fragrant Japanese cypress. The main onsen bath has a vaulted ceiling, a cypress planked floor and a large, sunken tub in the middle of the room. The clear water comes from the Hotaka Onsen and contains calcium and magnesium sulfate. Food served in the dining-room is strictly vegetarian.
