- Sitting on top of a gorge overlooking the Kanomata River the main attraction of this comfortable old inn are the baths. At the bottom of several very steep staircases are a series of open-air baths. The first are some vat-like tubs designed for single bathers. Descend the next staircase to find the mixed sex bathing area with four spacious wooden tubs and a small cave pool. These all face the racing mountain stream and the thickly covered gorge. The inn itself is basic, pleasant and serves good food but the glory of the baths will make a visit worthwhile.
