Sakitama Museum of Archaeology and Folk Culture

Sakitama Museum of Archaeology and Folk Culture - Tokyo

  • Description:

    • The park in which the museum is located is itself a national historic landmark. Examples from nine Kofun-era (5th to 7th centuries) tomb mounds located nearby form the core of the museum's archaeological collection. In 1983 national treasure status was given to the Inari Yama gold-inlaid iron sword. The museum houses over 1,600 farm implements. There is even the residence of an early rice farmer, which was relocated here from Satte in 1968.
