Senshu Bunko Museum

Senshu Bunko Museum - Tokyo

  • Description:

    • The concentration in the Senshu Museum is on maps which were collected by Yoshiharu Satake--a 34th generation daimyo. In addition to battlefield and Akita castle paintings there are various items from the feudal era with works of calligraphy, poetry anthologies and historical records of interaction among other daimyo families.

The stone lanterns in the adjacent grounds on which the museum now stands are nostalgic vestiges of the Satakes' Edo period residence.
