To get there you must cross a swinging bridge across the Gamata River. This leads an immense rock lined pool. The thermal pool is set off from the currents of the river, and it retains heat from the hot spring sulfur water bubbling up from the riverbed. Shinzansou has western-style toilets and modern facilities. The food is great and they specialize in mountain onsen (spa) fare.
