Which is why numerous devotees gather here daily seeking freedom from their respective illnesses; offering prayers to Enmei Ksitigarbha, who is believed to cure people of any sickness. Legend also has it that a housemaid once swallowed a needle and was cured by eating a paper with the picture of Enmei Ksitigarbha on it, hence people often eat the paper in order to get cured. A prominent feature at the temple however is the statue of Arai Kannon at the main gate, worshipped by a large number of devotees.
