  • Description:

    • Established in 1874, the principal deities of this shrine are Mito clan members, Mitsukuni Tokugawa (1628-1700, also known as Giko and Nariaki Tokugawa (1800-1860, who is called Rekko. It was actually given government sanction with the status of a national shrine in 1873. Former retainers and local people from Mito donated both labor and money to construct the main buildings of the shrine.
