Description:
- Tokko-No-Yu is a free hot-spring bath on a small island in the middle of the Katsura River in Shuzenji, said to be the oldest spa on the Izu Peninsula. Legend has it that the Buddhist monk Kododaishi, upon seeing a boy wash his sick father in the river, struck a rock with a holy relic, causing the healing waters to gush forth. Tokko-No-Yu, built on the site of this miracle, is a picturesque hot spring where you can bathe with the sounds of rushing water all around you. Tokko-No-Yu is only five minutes' walk from Shuzenji-Onsen Station.
